Activating Adnya or Third Eye Chakra

This chakra is located between the eyebrows and is uniquely linked to satwa guna, which is considered the highest of the three gunas. It is connected to the mind, and activating this chakra facilitates effective mind control. The blue hue of the throat chakra transitions into the indigo of the ajna chakra, which becomes more vibrant with practice. To engage the kundalini in this chakra, maintain the same procedures as before, but apply medium pressure by clenching your teeth. Additionally, bring your eyeballs closer together and focus your gaze inward toward this chakra.

The ajna chakra, often referred to as the third eye, is located between the eyebrows and is uniquely linked to satwa guna, the highest of the three gunas. This chakra is connected to the mind, and its activation facilitates effective mind control. The blue of the throat chakra transitions into the indigo of the ajna chakra, which becomes more vibrant with practice. To engage the kundalini energy at this chakra, you can apply moderate pressure by clenching your teeth. Focus on bringing your eyeballs closer together and direct your gaze inward toward this chakra. Since this chakra relates to the mind, it is inherently tied to anthakkaranam, which encompasses manas (mind), buddhi (intellect), cittam (consciousness), and ahamkaram (ego). Activating this chakra brings you closer to atman, allowing your mind to perceive the illumination of atman within. Full activation of the ajna chakra grants you certain powers (siddhis) that can be harnessed for positive purposes. This chakra is receptive to the commands of your Guru, as "ajna" translates to command. These commands are transmitted through akash, the medium associated with this chakra. Cosmic energy acts as the conduit for your Guru’s guidance, with the chakra functioning like an antenna that picks up these signals. Additionally, the ajna chakra is significant for the convergence of the three nadis: ida, pingala, and sushumna. It is also known as kudastha, symbolizing this union. When fully activated, your individual consciousness aligns with universal consciousness, preparing your karmic account for resolution. The activation of this chakra also stimulates the pineal and pituitary glands. The pineal gland, situated deep within the brain, provides inner spiritual vision and can be awakened by light. This gland works in conjunction with the hypothalamus, together regulating the aging process.

Once the ajna chakra, or third eye, is activated, the aging process begins to decelerate. Additionally, the back head chakra, located just behind the ajna chakra, will also become active. An activated pineal gland allows us to connect with higher frequencies. This gland produces melanin, which is typically secreted during rest and deep meditation. In deep meditation, divine energy flows through the sahasrara and reaches the pineal gland. When the pineal gland is fully activated, the astral body can detach from the physical body, enabling astral travel, a practice often undertaken by saints. If the kundalini energy rises through the ajna chakra but instead ascends through the ida or pingala channels, it may lead to a nervous breakdown upon reaching this chakra. This chakra grants access to universal energy, allowing you to observe various metaphysical phenomena. Eventually, this chakra will take charge of your spiritual journey, guiding you further along the path. You will receive guidance from highly knowledgeable gurus, many of whom you may not have encountered in person, as they connect with you through this chakra. Others will begin to recognize and respect you. In the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna states that if a person maintains their consciousness in this chakra at the time of death, they will not be reborn, merging instead with Him. This is the final of the six major chakras, and beyond this point, there are no significant chakras. Unlike the chakras from muladhara to vishuddhi, which are linked to specific elements, this chakra transcends the five basic elements.
