Discovering the Chakras
The awakening of kundalini requires a series of specific actions. If the lower chakras are not properly activated, it can hinder the activation of the higher chakras. In addition to the methods discussed previously, we will explore two more techniques. When you inhale, focus on holding your breath in the chakra you wish to activate. This technique is achievable only if you can visualize your breath moving through your spinal column. Achieving this visualization demands a high level of concentration. With consistent practice, you will become adept at this process.

The process of awakening kundalini involves several actions. If the lower chakras are not properly activated, it can hinder the activation of the higher chakras. In addition to the various methods discussed previously, we will now explore two more techniques. When you inhale, focus on holding your breath at the chakra you wish to activate. This technique requires you to visualize your breath moving through your spinal column. Achieving this visualization demands a high level of concentration. With consistent practice, you will become adept at this method. Only through such practice can you ensure that the kundalini energy travels through the central channel of the spinal cord. If not, the energy may ascend incorrectly through the ida or pingala channels, which may go unnoticed in the initial stages. As you inhale, as described earlier, hold your breath at the swadhisthana chakra. This involves directing your gaze outward while focusing on the swadhisthana chakra. This marks the beginning of what is referred to as looking within. Looking within entails concentrating on a specific area internally or delving deeper into oneself. There is a distinction between concentration and exploration. Concentration is focused on an object you are already familiar with, requiring prior knowledge. Exploration, on the other hand, involves discovering something new. To illustrate, consider oil exploration: it begins with surveying a large area using advanced technology to pinpoint a specific location. Once identified, efforts are concentrated on that area to extract gas. In this analogy, the first step is to search for the chakra, followed by identifying it, then concentrating on it, and finally activating it. The final stage involves receiving certain powers granted to you by the chakra. In oil exploration, the area covered can span several hundred square miles. However, when it comes to chakras, our understanding of the body is more intimate, and our exploration is confined to just a few inches. The process of locating and activating the chakras is relatively straightforward. The positions of the chakras are well-defined, and to aid in visualization, each chakra is associated with a specific color. When a chakra is activated, you will sense this activation through vibrations and warmth in that region.
This energy will be felt on both the front and back sides, as the power generated by the chakras is substantial. Now, let’s explore how to activate the swadishtan chakra. You are aware of its location, situated a couple of inches above the coccyx and just below the sacrum. For clearer visualization, this chakra is represented by the color orange. Since the kundalini has already passed through the brahma granthi, its next stop is the swadishtan chakra. We need to focus on holding the kundalini energy here and activating this chakra. Begin by sitting in a meditative position. After completing the necessary preparatory steps, take a deep breath, visualize inhaling air from the muladhara chakra, perform moolabhandha, and imagine drawing the breath up through your spinal column. Hold your breath for a few seconds while visualizing it at the swadishtan chakra, but do not exceed a few seconds. Repeat this process several times, maintaining your full concentration on the chakra. After several repetitions, return to normal breathing while keeping your focus on the orange-colored chakra. Continue to meditate on this chakra, visualizing it in orange. With consistent practice, your swadishtan chakra will likely be activated within a month. Remember to direct your inner gaze towards this chakra and concentrate fully.
Having an experienced guru by your side is essential when practicing kundalini meditation. Attempting to learn this practice independently can lead to mistakes that may harm your nervous system.
