Astrological predictions can sometimes be inaccurate. Astrology is fundamentally a science rooted in astronomy. When formulating predictions, numerous factors concerning each planet must be considered. Primarily, it is essential to determine the precise time of birth. In many horoscopes, the time of birth is often approximated to the nearest five minutes, such as 09:05, 09:10, or 09:15. However, the exact birth time should be calculated by considering the lords, sub-lords, and sub-sub-lords of specific houses, along with the corresponding lord, sub-lord, and sub-sub-lord of the moon. This meticulous approach can yield the exact birth time down to the second, for instance, 09:06:22. While this precision may not significantly alter the planetary positions in the natal chart, it is crucial for predictions based on sub-sub-lords. Another critical aspect is the evaluation of planetary strength through shadbala, or six-fold strength, which includes positional strength, directional strength, temporal strength, kinetic strength, natural strength, and aspectual strength. Each of these categories contains various sub-sections, and without a comprehensive assessment of the six-fold strength, accurate predictions cannot be made. Additionally, ishta and kashta phal must be calculated for the dasa period, and ashtavarga should be determined for all planets and houses. The strength or weakness of a house should also be evaluated using ashtavarga, alongside the assessment of bhava bala, which is derived from constructing a bhava chakra. The placement of planets within a bhava is also significant; a planet located in the bhava madya, or center of the house, possesses greater power, whereas a planet situated on a cusp may lose some of its potency. Furthermore, planetary aspects must be analyzed to ascertain whether they are benefic, malefic, or neutral. In calculating these aspects, the precise distance between planets should be considered rather than relying solely on house placements.
All planets cast their aspects on the seventh house from their respective positions. For instance, if the Sun is located at 2.30 degrees in the first house and another planet is situated at 28.50 degrees in the seventh house, the Sun's aspect on that planet will be weakened. To enhance the accuracy of predictions during the dasa period, it is essential to evaluate the dasa lord's bodhakan, vedakan, pasakan, and karakan, along with their placements. The Rahu-Ketu axis must also be considered. Additionally, the Arudhara Lagna or pada system should be applied, requiring the calculation of the pada for each house. Each horoscope will feature one atma karaka planet, determined by its degree of placement. When performing these calculations, the positions of planets relative to the Lagna, Moon, Sun, atma karaka planet, and yoga karaka planet must be taken into account. Indu lagna and hora lagna should also be computed. In addition to analyzing the D1 chart (the rasi chart), it is crucial to examine the placements of planets in other vargas. The Navamsa D9 chart should be reviewed alongside the rasi chart. Ultimately, the relationships among the planets, the influences of transits, the functional characteristics of the planets, conjunctions, combustion, retrogradation, and the rays emitted by each planet must be assessed before making any predictions. The effective yogas should also be considered, although this list is not exhaustive. Therefore, a comprehensive study of the horoscope should incorporate all these calculations. Furthermore, to investigate employment issues, the D10 chart should be analyzed; for matters of spirituality, the D5 chart; and for spouse-related inquiries, the D9 chart should be consulted. This numeric system divides a house (30 degrees) into as many segments as indicated by the numeric value. In the D10 chart, the division is 30/10, with such divisions extending up to D150. Typically, charts up to D60 are utilized. By employing all these calculations in horoscope interpretation, an accuracy rate of approximately 80% can be achieved. However, it is my belief that attaining 100% accuracy may not be feasible.
